Novice points

Mr. Rademachererer advised me to post a question regarding my novice points attained from the first couple of events, and if any of them are transferrable to my D-Stock class points now that I've made the move.

I'll just be here with my fingers crossed.

Points are not transferable across super classes and Novice points are not really equivalent to begin with.

You will get participation credit if you are going for perfect attendance.

It used to be that you could transfer novice point from your first two races if you joined a regular class after that. I don't know if that is the case now.

i know in 2006 it was actually 6 events, cause I did that to get double the track time (ran morning and afternoon for the first 6 events, then switched to STU and got points moved over)

Even if it was allowed in the past, I'm not a big fan of going back and changing results after the event has taken place. This would also not take into account running in different groups then the class in question, different times of day or if the competitor ran in two groups that day, etc.... I agree with Dean's orignial reply personally.

Not really fair for those in the class he would be transferring into, not having had a chance to compete against him in those previous events when he was a Novice, but perhaps out-placed by his points transfer. Just as we don't allow someone to bring points from one trophy class to another when they switch (like going from CS to STR or similar) we don't allow Novices to bring points with them to a trophy class.
