Help Needed At Reno Track Events

Good afternoon Reno Region SCCA members.
We need several volunteers to help out at our Track Event/Time Trials in 2021. Our fist event is at Thunderhill Raceway Park on April 17.
We could use more people to help staff flagging stations. Corner workers are close to all the action but safely positioned behind concrete barriers and tire walls. You will have a front row view of the action and learn the basics of flagging and communications. If you enjoy the day as a corner worker and want to continue there are many opportunities to continue to expand your skills in the craft and attend a wide spectrum of events from track days, SCCA Road Races, Pro Race Events. Formula 1 is in the realm of possibilities for experienced corner workers.
Attending an event is also a great way to ‘scope out’ our Reno Region SCCA track program and see if driving on a real racetrack is something you might wish to experience for yourself. Come out and talk with the drivers, officials and instructors. We provide lunch, a $50 gas card to help defray expenses, and a welcoming environment.
There are other positions available besides working corners. For the April 17 event we could use some help moving the region pace/safety car from Mound House to Thunderhill. If you have a truck and trailer capable of hauling a 4500# Infinity and might be interested, please let us know.
We can always use help with tech inspection, setup and take down, registration and officiating. If none of this is appealing to you, just come out and join us for a day at the track with a fun group of motorsports enthusiasts.
