Default Lug Nut/Lock Question

Hi all,

Color me ignorant on wheel locks, but are they safe to run in AX? Are they just regular lug nuts with a special face or pattern or something? I assume they get torqued down to the same specs that regular lug nuts do?

Thank you for your help,

Justin

They are fine....just torque them down... Then re-torque them the morning of the autocross.

Yes, basically just a regular nut that requires a different socket. As long as they are torqued down properly, they are fine.

Thanks Pat and Pack.

Since I haven't been in Reno that long, does anyone think that they are needed from a theft standpoint?

There was a recent story on local TV about the increase in wheel thefts in the area - mostly on trucks and pickups; so I'd say it's probably better to have them than not.

They can help turn away some, but anyone can go buy wheel locks or a wheel lock kit.
