opinion on stock mini for novice class
Hello forum viewers, and mini drivers, what year is a good choice for the novice driver/ or is there another car in the same class? thanks Bob:)
|
Any year would work fine as far as MINIs go. If you're planning on buying one, you might as well go with a newer JCW, as that will get you the most power and extras while still being in a stock class once you move out of novice.
Novice class is based on driver experience rather than car, so you can drive whatever you want in that class. |
I'd say go no older than an '09 JCW or S so you have some positive differential aid. 08 and older R53's with open diffs are tough to autocross...

Thanks everyone for the reply, great info. Bob, ex RX7 driver now looking for that next car

Actually, the R53s (06 and older) Cooper Ss could be had with an LSD. Trouble is finding one that has it, it wasn't a popular option.
