Thank You everyone that came to our first stand alone Performance Driving eXperience at Reno Fernley Racetrack. I mean everyone, Volunteers, Drivers and Instructors. Twenty one drivers recieved excellent instruction in a safe environment. Newer drivers learned the basics of driving on track and experienced drivers improved on existing skills.

Corner workers, Grid and Control perform their jobs flawlessly despite exposure to 100 degree heat and blazing sun. Instructors spent the entire day climbing in and out of students cars or providing instructional rides during their track sessions.

Lest I forget, thank you also to track management for partnering with us to make this event happen and for the track preparation and event support.

Reno Region put the event together on short notice and conducted the PDX in a format never before attemped. Thanks to the efforts of everyone the event operated smoothly and safely. Hopefully met the FUN expectations of everyone!

Feedback on the event from participants is welcome. Your ideas and suggestions would be useful in deciding if future events should be organized and making improvements in the future.

Again, Thank You

I thought that the event was incredible. I can't wait until the next one! There is so much to learn out there, knowledge and instruction did not feel crammed and drive time was awesome!

I had a great time as well. Having an instructor session was both a ton of fun, but also helped the students a lot by giving them lots of extra seat time on the "correct" line.

The question is, how do we get pdx only days up to 40+ participants? Can we lower the price a little, if it means drawing more folks? Perhaps partner up with the bay area hide clubs to draw out of town partipants?

What about running a full course pdx on Saturday, and a time trials on Sunday, and allow the trialers to run with the pdx for practice?

I was thinking along the same lines. We do OK financially at 20 - 25 with the rental agreement we have with the track. At 40 entrants the rental goes up significantly so that might be a problem. I also wonder if we would have enough Instructors if we had that many? Dean will have an opinion I am guessing. The other problem I envision is that the Time Trials day is billed at our full contract rate and we need the PDX groups to make enough entries to break even financially. The August 28 PDX/TT is already sanctioned for one day but that could be altered. Not sure what we could do to financially support a two day deal however.

Tom, that is great. We are all glad that you had a good learning experience. Now if we can just find the switch to turn on the AC:lol:
