Adam was in a accident yesterday while riding his bicycle on McCarren. He was headed uphill near Skyline/Caughlin ranch, in the bike lane, when a young lady - for reasons yet to be determined -drifted over into the bike lane and rear-ended Adam at around 55 MPH. According to the accident investigators Adam went headfirst into her windshield, then up and over the cargo rack on top of her car and ended up about 135' down the street from where she hit him. To everyone's surprise, he seems to have suffered no serious brain or skull damage because of his helmet (a Bell Snell approved bicycle helmet) which did its job by absorbing the impact and shattering into pieces. Even in bicycling, proper, quality safety gear can save your life.
Adam has no life threatening injuries, but he's going to be hurting for awhile and certainly won't win any beauty contests, but I for one have to say a big Thank You to Snell, Bell helmets, and all those who test and design these things. Be safe out there, folks.

Don, please pass on our best wishes to a speedy recovery and if there is anything he needs please get ahold of me....Pat, Jarael & Lexi
I had my head run over by a car in a head on (car verses motorcycle) me on the bike, the helmet saved my life. As far as brain damage well... you be the judge.
Adam, I hope you have a speedy and complete recovery!

Glad to hear the injuries weren't life threatening. I hope Adam has a quick and speedy recovery.
I was so relieved when I got home tonight, and heard that Adam is out of the hospital.
Feel better, Adam!
