Considering all the effort club members have expended searching for a backup to Stead, it seems highly unlikely there is a suitable lot in the area that has somehow remained undiscovered. That being said, here's a tool for developers and brokers from NV Energy that may be of use. It requires setting up an account for access, something I'm reluctant to do. Anyone want to go for it?

Van did an excellent organizing activities this past weekend and surface conditions have improved substantially, but options are always good. Perhaps there is a massive vacant lot lurking in the wilds of Northern Nevada we have overlooked...and maybe pigs can fly .

Agreed, Steve - options are always good.

I saw an article in RGJ last week about Silver Springs Airport opening a fuel facility, and didn't even realize till then that there was an airstrip there. Made me wonder if that might be worthy of looking at for a possible site?

That is a heavily FAA funded airport...

So is Stead. The difference is, Stead doesn't think the FAA funding prevents them from using the facilities as they see fit provided nothing interferes with aviation activity.
