I want to get some numbers for my car this year. I would like them to be die cut, but can't find anywhere around town that sells them. I looked online and most of what I found were made for whiteboards and I'm not sure those will hold on the side of a moving car.
I already checked a few places around. Summit didn't have anything and the sign shops that I visited will only print them on sheets. Any other ideas or of an online shop that sells strong enough ones?

I got mine there last offseason. Reasonable prices and quick shipping normally.
http://www.soloperformance.com/ has anything you could want.
Personally, I printed out 900 point letters and 500 point class letters in my favorite font that met the rules and traced them onto sheet magnetic material ($7/ft 24" wide last I checked) from Tripp Plastics and cut them out. You can also dye them with Vinyl Dye. (rattle can)

Thanks guys. I originally was going for die cut, but the number box looks pretty professional and real nice.

I never number my race cars and bikes until they are finished ,I guess it sort of like a christening so I always end up at my local motorcycle shop on Friday night getting numbers RMS has a good selection of die cut numbers. This year I want to make up a set that look like blue painters tape

I bought my original diecut numbers and letters as a set from Solotime. After a couple of years I have found that the diecuts are not working as well as I would like. Serveral times one would blow off during the colder events. The smaller class letter were especially bad. I have now gone to panels for the class designation produced at a local print shop. More expensive than Solotime, but working much better.

Yea I remember seeing yours fall off a couple times. that was only after a couple years? Hopefully the large sheets work better.
With the sheet, you can always put tape on the leading edge.

For numbers, like Dean says the cheapest way is to go to Tripp and buy the bulk white magnetic vinyl and have them cut you some numbers from automotive vinyl, then apply them to your panel (or circle) you cut yourself. For class letters, the cheapest way is to go to Home Depot and buy a package of heat register block-offs - they're 8.5" x 15" magnetic vinyl that come three to a pack for $5.00. Then get some transfer vinyl lettering at Office Depot, Staples, etc. for under $10 and make your own.

Thanks for all the responses, I recently placed an order through Rally Decals. Went for the number and class boxes.
Don't new members need to check for availability of numbers before they commit to them? I think Van would be the one to talk to since he's the Chief of Reg?

I believe the policy is that those who used a particular number in the previous year(s) have priority for using it again, but I could be wrong. It's always best to check the season's results to see if the number you want was used, and if so then maybe put off purchasing number sets until you find out if it's available this season.

Signs of tahoe (A sponsor of my rally car) could definitely help you out with all your graphics / magnetic number needs :)

Yea I checked at the last event to see what numbers to stay away from. 188 and 625 if I remember correctly. I didn't plan on a low number so I should be fairly safe. Worst case I use tape again.

I have another question. Is the general members meeting for members only? I plan on getting a membership this year, but don't have one yet. Would it still be fine for me to come?
I didn't want to start a new thread for such a simple question.

Don't buy magnetic numbers if you have a fiberglass car. Still have them somewhere.....

I just picked mine up from Instant Signs on Smithridge across from the mall. Was $30 for the set of 4 magnets.
