Please register as soon as possible so we can order trophies.

Reno Region is hosting a double PDX, Club Trials and Track Trials September 12 & 13. This event is also the 2009 NP Div Time Trials Championship.

Track Trials is for drivers that are experienced, are licensed drivers (Time Trials Comp or SCCA Regional, National or Pro competition license) and have cars that are equipped with a roll bar and additional safety equipment as defined in the Time Trials Rules.

Competitors that enter both days of the Club Trials or Track Trials qualify for Division Class Champion as well. Registration online www.renoscca.motorsportsreg.com (http://www.renoscc.motorsportsreg.com/) also can find flyer, schedule & course map,.

Link above fixed!!!

Now get registered. This should be a great event, and you can't beat $250 for 2 days!

That is about 10X cheaper per minute of track time than Solo!!!

Weather may well be the best of the year.

Go sign up!

I'm not sure that truck will be allowed at the track. It's not like the Syclone or Typhoon which are lowered and setup for the track... the SRT-10 Ram is a full size, full height truck, isn't it?

Yes, it's a full size truck. I think it's lower a bit stock. Where can I find out the info? I don't want him to go to the track and find out that he can't run. Also I don't want to see him flip either.

Actually, there's nothing in the Time Trials Rules that would preclude any pickup from running a PDX. The rules all use "car" as the defining word but the defination is:
2.6. CAR (Automobile)
A self propelled land vehicle running on four wheels, not in a line, which shall be in contact with the ground. At least two (2) wheels shall affect the steering and at least two (2) the propulsion

As a tech inspector, there's nothing in the rules that would make me deny a truck as an entry.

As an instructor, I would feel a bit nervious in a pickup without a rollbar and harness.

I personally feel that the decision should be left up to the Steward of the Meet.

BTW, I've instructed in Syclones, they don't handle very well.

It is less about handling and more about roll-over. A Syclone will spin in situations where a equally bad handling car would. A F250 in the same situation is likely to roll.

There should be somehing like this "SUVs and pick-up trucks are not allowed. Other high-centre of gravity vehicles may be excluded at the discretion of the Stewards." in the sups. It is possible Dave did not include it, but the stewards have discretion anyway.

As the chief instructor, I am not going to permit any high CG vehicle to participate in PDX.

Agreed Dean, I was just stating the rules and clairfying the tech rules.

You missed a great day, but there is one more tomorrow...

The PDX group got 4 roughly 30 minute sessions!!! 2 hours of track time for $175... You can't beat that!

Plenty of room left for cars and drivers tomorrow, and plenty of great instructors to sit in the right seat... I don't think you can register on-line any more, but let me know and I'll make sure they are ready for you.

Here's a little in-car footage of the last PDX session on Sunday while I'm chasing Silvio's STI around the track:

Nice footage.

You wouldn't have passed us in the '65 Mustang that fast if I could have got the driver to shift above 3,000 . Oh well, he had fun too.

Too bad we have to wait until spring to do it again.
