Hello Gang:

Here's an article from the May 17 NY Times that alludes to perhaps the end of an era:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/17/automobiles/17auto.html

Also, our retirement community just had the streets sealed. Interesting to watch the truck and crew laying down the new surface (I love hard work...I can watch it for hours). Unfortunately, even though we stayed off for 12 hours, folks backing out of driveways and turning their wheels at a standstill left some nasty marks. Our surface went down with a very heavy coating of tar, along with the aggregate, and although a few areas look a lot like Stead, most areas appear sound. The foreman said a loose surface usually means scrimping on the tar, and also observed that sealing over concrete usually does not work out well due to poor adhesion between the two materials.

See you all at Reno/Fernley.

Cheers,

Steve

YOU live in a retirement community?! Okay, now we know where to have the next solo. Might have to be late at night and rather impromptu.

Landmark homes is in BK.

Why couldn't we get a permit to use their last development for an autocross.

We could call it the STREETS OF DAYTON.

Basically they started a development, put in the streets for 10 or 12 square blocks and didn't build any homes.

The asphalt is nice and grippy.

Who would you contact?

Landmark Homes was owned by Jim Bodin (sp?). He used to have that old race track out there too and he raced. I did the financing on a bunch of those houses a million years ago.

Here's the Sec of State listing for contact now :https://esos.state.nv.us/SOSServices/AnonymousAccess/CorpSearch/CorpDetails.aspx?lx8nvq=TuAHK3Yw1DFCx5hsKRj2kg%253 d%253d
