Hello Gang:
Here's an article from the May 17 NY Times that alludes to perhaps the end of an era:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/17/automobiles/17auto.html
Also, our retirement community just had the streets sealed. Interesting to watch the truck and crew laying down the new surface (I love hard work...I can watch it for hours). Unfortunately, even though we stayed off for 12 hours, folks backing out of driveways and turning their wheels at a standstill left some nasty marks. Our surface went down with a very heavy coating of tar, along with the aggregate, and although a few areas look a lot like Stead, most areas appear sound. The foreman said a loose surface usually means scrimping on the tar, and also observed that sealing over concrete usually does not work out well due to poor adhesion between the two materials.
See you all at Reno/Fernley.
Cheers,
Steve
