I was talking to Pat at Street Survival about sunglasses, he asked me to post the site.

www.39dollarglasses.com (http://www.39dollarglasses.com)

I'm on my second pair from these guys after *****in' about the insane quotes from PearlVision & Lenscrafters.

I always get the expensive titainum, twisty frames because I usually sit down on the glasses right after I get them.

Top on the line lenses with anti-reflective coating at Pearl - $428.00, the same at 39dollar - $113.00 shipped. (39dollar uses the same lenses as the retail stores).

I also just got the Transitions DriveWare sunglasses - really like them.

Pearl- $500, 39dollar- $178.00

Pat, They ship from New York, so figure the usual UPS ground. DO NOT use the $6 US second day air, UPS screwed that up twice.

Depends on 39's lab load, it usually is 3-4 days for process, the the UPS time.

I'd better put in my usual disclaimer " I'm happy with thes guys & will use them again, you may not be", there, I'm covered.

Note on the Transitions Drivewear: these are not dark like other transitions and other sunglasses but, for me they work great. Check their website.

The price here in US are insane. I usually get my from Thailand on my vaca. I just change my broken lenses for ~$30. That from Hoya super thin with coating and transitions.

Hi Nat, 39 changed clear, thin, coated lenses to a different perscription for me for $35, good deal.

Thought I'd throw in my experience. I have had good luck and prices from Costco. They even got good reviews from Consumer Reports a few years back. And Walmart had the best prices when I just wanted my old pair tinted a while back.
