I'd rock it.

Wait, I've been informed that the correct term is 'stone.' I'd stone it. You know, biblical style.

Didn't that car get torn all to hell when it jumped the bridge? I bet it's had bodywork done. :disco:

Probably not as much body work as I've had done ;)

Wait, I've been informed that the correct term is 'stone.' I'd stone it. You know, biblical style.Stone it?! Biblical style?! God, I didn't know you were an old testament dude.

I'm sure she (this car MUST be a girl) never adultried (yes that's now a verb) the Ken car (because this has to be a Barbi-car on steroids) so she doesn't get stoned in a nasty biblical way. Girls just wanna have fun, ya know? And maybe occasionally get stoned in nice non-biblical ways....

"They'll stone you when you're riding in your car."

yeah but the song also says "EVERYBODY must get stoned." So there :)

not touching this with a 10' pole............maybe 20' (poke & run)

Doofus, it's nothing cosmetic, I told you: It's head (removing branch from skull and putting scalp back on), elbow (shattered diving into second base while slightly intoxicated), left arm (all-night surgery putting muscles back together after an incident with a champagne glass and a hot tub), knee (meniscus from tennis), elbow again (tore ligaments playing vollyball), and neck (being hit by a drunk driver, tossed off a bridge once, and then screwing up at RFR).

And if you have a 20' pole it's in your dreams

I have the money. I want it. I've been emailing the owner. I also have a spousal type who won't be caught dead in it; trying to convince him that he is manly enough to get in the car. I mean really, if people think guys with red Vipers must have, um, issues, wouldn't the opposite apply to a man who can drive a pink car?!

Besides all my Facebook buds say buy it! And they are complete car freaks from Australia to SF to Alaska to, um, Lubbock.

Got your message Pat, we're still in business. I don't suppose you'd have a problem with me painting it pink would you? JK

The owner is sending the Suki car to Mecham (I think that's it; I watch the auctions all the time but they're usually muscle cars and don't remember the spelling) 'cause she didn't get her ebay price and I didn't get the check from the Exige until today when I could have snagged it yesterday. Too late. I called her and she was still willing to sell to me for $19k.

Think of the recruiting value for SCCA female drivers if that car was there. Or at RFR. Or HAN. This car is famous. And it wasn't the stunt one so it didn't disintegrate on the bridge. It was registered to Universal Studios and everyone forgot it until they found it in storage. Then it did a car wax commercial. It has 6k miles on it. No bodywork. So I guess it's in better shape than I am :)

And I don't care which Solo class I get my butt kicked in, doesn't seem to matter much--just trying to have fun. The track is more my thing and I don't even time it myself. Is there a rule against fuzzy pink upholstery that might be useful soaking up PDX sweat? ($580 to fix, already checked). What's a wiring harness and why would it die just sitting around in storage? Is it expensive? (Didn't get to the electronic unit of shop class yet, was planning on suspension next). Will of course replace all safety stuff (probably get rid of the power top and save some weight too) and add a supercharger.

I'd go to TX if I can fix a little marital booger before I go. Then I could test it and have it inspected.

Just a little reality check Gina...

Welcome to SM2 if not something prepared... You would be L, but still, running against cars like Ham's if SM2!!!

Factor in the cost of reupholstery, Stock steering wheel with airbag, hard top and roll bar if you really want to track it and expect someone to get in the right seat.

Also, assume the wiring harness has been mangled to some extent to get the lighting to work. That will need to be checked/fixed.

It probably should have sold where it finished bidding if not closer to $15K...

It is probably worth a Southwest ticket to go to Texas and check it out.

That said, I'd drive it. I'm not afraid of a pink car or a yellow shirt. :)

Wow, Dean you are psychic or something (I checked Mecum's site where this chick thinks she's gonna get gazillions for her Suki car) and they have never once sold an S2k. Even in a civilized color. And I found that it would cost about $1,000 to get to Lubbock (like they shouldn't pay US to go there) and back tomorrow so screw it.

I'll hopefully buy it off her desperate butt for a lot less on the show. BTW the Yahoo story I did with your interview went away because about 115 people been hired and fired since I wrote it. But R News and Review loved it, If we can get past the legal stuff you may find yourself the town's most eligible bachelor. So clean the cheeze whiz stains off your ties just in case. g.

On an unrelated note, Vic would you consider selling one of your cars (daughter prefers Mini, I'll take anything that won't bankrupt me if I wreck it. (as long as I can trailer with a Forester). Very sad to have no track car for RFR and Hawthorne this year. Was unexpectedly depressed all day today :(

I propose a Westfield lotus seven replica which uses some miata parts from a doner car and then because of your interest in the S2000 you could use that drivetrain in it. The car would weigh about 1500lbs, would be supper reliable on track, would be street leagal, and fast as hell and your forester could pull it. Plus it would still have the wow factor of the green machine if not more. I think you can build one for about 25k with a miata drive train. Might be more with the S2000. There is a lot of info about it at flyinmiata.com. Some videos on y tube too. Sorry, couldn't help myself earlier and Dean is right. Take it from me, SM2 is a tough class if you don't have a corvette prepared. I wish Don would set up his RX7 and start beating them cause I can't.

That car exists! Kinda sorta. It's an Ultralight, you can pick the original car it came from--Lotus 7, RX7, or S2000. Street legal, 0-60 in 3.5, has apparently won a number of national thingies. Another casualty of husband veto-power :(

Maybe, but not going to be trackable without a cage, hard top, etc...

I would suggest a pass.

bummer. why so hard to get fast, cute, and cheap in one shot? funny, that car was marketed as a racer; i assumed that qualifying for track fun wouldn't be the issue.

sigh. thanks. scca seems determined to save me from myself ;)
