Has a decision been made on what the format for the test/ school saturday will look like? I'm inviting a new driver and was curious what the day will look like?

Thanks

Is there even a chair for the event? The "Solo Event Chair" thread does not show anyone.

For those who have been part of previous Reno Region Solo School/Test'n'Tunes, expect much the same as the last couple of years.
Roughly, that means the following...

In the morning, there will be three "exercises" set up -- skidpad, slalom, accelerate/brake. In the afternoon, there will be a typical autocross course, a little on the short side.

Test'n'Tuners will run at selected times in the morning and the afternoon.

School students will start with a classroom, focused on safety and an introduction to the terminology of our sport, so they can understand what the instructors will be telling them. The students will then be split into three groups, each with a lead instructor and a number of assistant instructors. Each of the three groups will get time on each of the three "exercises." In the afternoon, the three student groups will take turns manning the course as well as running.

Experienced hands who volunteer as instructors will get the Test'n'Tune for free.

Anybody want to hazard a guess as to how many students we'll get? How many Test'n'Tuners?

I got no guesses... But I'll chime in and say that I'm definitely doing the test and tune, and will be happy to volunteer instructing as well!

I've got a few people I'm trying to get out and involved for their first time. Maybe, three new students.

I took the school 2 years, and taught my 3rd. But i'm slow and a slow learner. You're probably a bit ahead of where i was @ that time.

Are you going to feel comfortable answering questions of the 09 class of noobs? :) Can you explain some basic car control concepts ? where are your hands? where are you looking? hey don't run over all the cones! that sorta stuff..

I'm definitely doing that autoX weekend, and i'm bringing a noob. :) hopefully i can talk him into both days. I just helped him turn his rotors and he's very excited to come out and play. :D

The flyer for the School is attached.

Any and all Solo drivers with bit of experience and a lick of common sense are encouraged to be instructors. This is a rookie school, after all.

And, don't forget about Solo Annual Tech coming this Saturday, 9 to noon, at C&C Automotive Specialties, 820 E. Greg St., Sparks (I-80 to McCarran, south to Greg, east to just past the railroad tracks -- C&C is on the left). You must have at least one year of Solo experience to take advantage of Solo Annual Tech.

Are there any more details about this posted anywhere? Like what time it starts, how much it costs, etc...? Me and my Dad were thinking about doing it (both newbies) but we need more details.
