The April 26 PDX / Club Trial / Track Trial is now open for online registration at www.renoscca.motorsportreg.com (http://www.renoscca.motorsportreg.com). :) This is our first attempt at using this service so we may have missed some items. Please note, you have the option of paying online with a credit card or e-check or at the event with cash or check. Let me know if you have any difficulty with this system.

You can also download the entry from our www.renoscca.org (http://www.renoscca.org) website and mail it in to the address on the entry.

Please note that this year the same driver using the same car can enter any two event segments for example CT & TT or PDX & CT or PDX & TT provided your car meets the requirements for each segment you enter. The cost for one segment is $175 and $250 for any two segments.

Also, the 2008 PDX & Time Trials Rules are available online at www.scca.com (http://www.scca.com) under the Club Racing tab. The Reno Region PDX/Time Trials Supplementary Regulations are posted in the Race section at www.renoscca.org (http://www.renoscca.org).

I just used the Club Trial sign up and it's great! Simple, logical and it takes payment on-line!

See you on 4/26 for PDX and Club Trail in SB.

Where can I get a Log book? Do I need one?

Tech should have log books to hand out at the event for new CT cars.

hey Nat if you go to Doc's and Forms you will find the tt reg's and rules. There you will be able to calculate your class be it stock or modified. Do not worry about your weight just use your curb weight.

PS you not do need a log book for CT but you can have one. They cost $5.00.

Showroom Stock theoretically will post lower times so that's what I'd run if I were you Nat, provided you don't have any mods.

On a Honda S2000, are the factory roll hoops suficient, or is a hard top or full roll bar required?

zpeed

I think you need a hardtop but I did install 4 points roll bars.

Straight from the Time Trials Supps:

http://www.renoscca.org/documents/Race/2008/Trials%2008%20supplemental%20regs.pdf

All automobiles that are street legal and posses a current valid license and registration; and meet
the inspection required by Level 1-TTR section 9.2.1. Proof of annual Tech Inspection in Time
Trials or Club Racing shall meet this requirement. Vehicles that are not street legal must be
eligible for classification in Reno Region Time Trials Stock or Production Classes. Open
wheeled cars are not allowed in PDX. Convertibles must have factory rollover protection, a
removable factory hardtop installed with factory attachments or a roll bar as specified in TTR,
section 11.1.

And from the TTR:

http://www.scca.com/documents/Club%20Rules/2008TTR.pdf

11.1. PDX (LEVEL 1)
At PDX (Level 1) events, any car that is street legal will NOT require a roll bar/roll cage, except for Convertibles and Targa* top automobiles. These cars must have either a roll bar meeting the requirements of this section of the TTR, a non-mechanical factory roll bar/roll over protection (i.e. no pop-ups), or a factory hard top using the factory mounting hardware and mounting points. Owners of cars equipped with factory roll bars/roll over protection must present documentation stating that the device is a roll bar or roll over protection at the time of vehicle tech inspection (a factory issued
Owner’s or Shop Manual will fulfill this requirement.) Targa top (and T-top) automobiles may forgo the roll bar requirement under the condition that the Targa bar meets the height requirements set forth in 11.1.1.B. For the purposes of this determination only, street legal will be defined as a car which meets local requirements for inspection (if applicable) and the car in question must possess CURRENT, VALID registration. If this street legal requirement is not met, then the roll bar requirement as stated in this section shall apply.

So, if a street legal convertible has either a factory roll hoop, a factory hard top, or an aftermarket roll-bar, it's good to go in PDX.

I believe the S2000 does have a factory roll hoop, so it should be fine in PDX.

the Honda S2k does have factory roll over documentation. I will warn you if you are tall your head will contact the ground if there is a roll over! NOT GOOD!

Just wanted to drop in and say Thank you. I had a blast letting my little black Lotus outdrive me, lol, and really appreciated the input, enthusiasm, and general friendliness of the group.

I'll be back (shopping for tires now).

Both Sheri and I had a great day. Thanks to eveyone who worked so long and so hard to put on the event, especially all the volunteers who manned/womaned the corner stations and took care of everything that was needed. A totaly different world than Solo, but a blast and boatloads of fun. Can't wait for the next one.

P.S. Pat doesn't have 37 cents, he can't be trusted!

Awesome day. Went smoothly, well-run, outstanding altogether --and never had more than 2 wheels off :)-

Only bummer is that the next one is MONTHS away.

Now I know this event has already happened, but I have a question, if I am an SCCA member do I need a track pass permit to run at RFR?

S2kreno
05-06-2008, 09:27 AM
You don't need one to do our PDX; I think you do to run on non-SCCA track days. Help me out here gurus -- does our PDX time count toward getting a track permit? I know going to ProControl can get you one but I thought our programs could also.....

solonut
05-06-2008, 09:57 AM
our pdx's count but you have to have your driver log to document your track time...and Wes what did you think about working at the timetrials????

Dean
05-06-2008, 10:01 AM
A "Track Pass" only permits you to participate during RFR Test & Tune days. They are controlled by RFR and they determine who gets them. I believe only SCCA & NASA Race licenses work in place of a "Track Pass" for those events. Just being a NASA or SCCA member doesn't cut it.

Other groups such as SCCA, TEAM, HOD, etc. that run events at RFR have their own membership or event entry requirements.

OK - hate the threadjack this - but I'm in a group of Atom's in June. Need to get some setup done and tires mounted. I know about C&C(?) - who in Reno does excellent balancing/mounting?

Allen's Tire on Victorian in Sparks, right off the freeway in between Pyramid and McCarran. He does all my stuff (tires and alignment) and he is the only I have found that knows what he is doing (he is old school race type guy). Never tried Dave with C&C.
