If they aren't OEM, in other words if it didn't come with the car's particular option package, yes.

It's by the rule book... things are explicitly allowed/disallowed.

Really, you're going to just want to run the car in Novice class for a while. By coming out to the events and not worrying about your class, you'll pick up on what's what rules-wise without having to jump through the hoops in order to run.
