So I printed off the flyer for this months event at RFR to post at my work and a couple other choice locations. What caught my eye was the "Upcoming Events" section. I see August has gone to a "tentative" event. I truely hope we don't cancel this event like we did last year:(. Any thoughts?

As far as we are concerned it is a go; it is the track that's wanting that date back for another event. But, judging by the number of registrants for this coming Trials Event, it could be a thin field.

I'll be @ this event.....wish I could ahve made more Road Events this year.....its what my car was built for, and where my skill is at, but things just didnt work out. None the less, I will be running this even without fail....cant wait! :D:D

This is good news. Hopefully the folks at the track will let us have our day. Yeah I was looking at the registration list for the July event and its pretty slim so far, Iam sure there will be more, heck I haven't even signed up yet......

The August 9 event has been sanctioned and will ocurr as scheduled. There was a possibility the track wanted our date so they could sell a full weekend. That didn't happen and we are on for August 9. We were also looking at combining the Time Trial event with the Solo the following weekend. After carefull consideration it was decided we wouln't have enough volunteers or drivers to do both on the same weekend.

Make plans to attend.

+1 Who else is going???

So I want to do Club Trials. Can anyone kindly point me toward some online info or explain to me if I need to class my car. I understand that Club Trials is an entry level timed event without the need of a transponder and that I need to wear pants and a long sleeve cotton shirt and full shoes, but beyone that, I'm uneducated.

Edit: I just learned that transponders are needed and are $25 additional. What else do I need to know? What time should I show up?

Thanks Pat. I have annual tech for autoX. Does that work for CT and PDX too? I'm really leaining toward CT even though I won't have true track brake pads on (Porterfield R4-S) and I'll be on the RE01R's. It'll just be fun to have a time to compare to others, etc.

I used the online calculator and got the following result:

NORPAC Trials Classification:TT-3 2003

Will I need to spell that out with tape onto the car? I'll bring my "3"s.

Cody, here's the much easier way to class your car:

http://www.renoscca.org/ttclass.php

TT Classification for a 2003 WRX Wagon (based on Rev 1.1.9 rules)
Trials Weight:
3200 lbs Official Weight (including driver)
Modifier Calculation:
1.0 Baseline
+ 0.8 Forced Induction
+ 0.4 Altered Boost
+ 0.25 Multi-Valves
+ 0.25 Multi-Cams
+ 0 Weight
= 2.7 Total Displacement Modifier
Displacement Calculation:
2.0 L Base Displacement
* 2.7 Displacement Modifier
= 5.4 L Adjusted Displacement
NORPAC Trials Classification:
TT-3 2003 WRX Wagon

But to be classed officially, you'll need to get the car on the scales during tech at the event, and get a TT log book for the car with the weight in it.

Edit: just saw that you already found the online form.

The class is actually "TT-3" for both Track Trials and Club Trials. TT-3 stands for Time Trials Production 3, not "Track Trials" or "Club Trials".

We know you're running CT because you're in the CT group. There is zero difference class-wise between TT-3 Track Trials and TT-3 Club Trials.

In the future, we may need to change the classing rules between TT and CT, but for now they're identical.

Be careful on the R4-S pads. They will overheat if you're pushing it at all for a few laps in a row, and you'll be buying not just new pads, but new rotors and potentially seals/dust boots on short notice just to make it to the next autocross.

Yah...I did see some fade and premature pad wear at the last PDX I ran years ago on the same pads.

Anyone have any new/used track pads that fit a 2003 WRX manufactured in July of '02 (they changed the callipers mid-year). Bah, I'm off to SECCS to ask there where more Suby drivers will see.

Where does one find a TT log book?

Nevermind, just saw you're reply in the other thread:

PDX and TT use the full front straight. CT uses the shortened front straight. You should be able to get a log book at tech the morning of the event if you're running in CT.

Yah, hey Scott, have any old track pads from your stock callipers? Maybe they'd fit.

Jeez, don't you guys ever read the newsletter? There was an article explaining everything you had to do to run Club Trials if you're an autocrosser, including what you need to wear (or not wear.)

dsmith
08-02-2008, 10:03 PM
And Cody, be sure you get a driver's log book, not a car log book, if you're going to be running Club and not Time Trials. The car one is useless to you and costs $5, the driver's is what you'll need and is free.

With the exception of the September Divisional Championship event, all TT/PDX's are one day events.

I stand corrected. Thanks man.

Will the 2 events in september include the PDX, or am I going to be volunteering instead?

Dean

PDX will be offered both Sat. and Sun. in Sept. You can sign up for one or both days.
