Nervous as can be, my first race tomorrow.
What is the latest I can get there for morning and afternoon events, 8:30 and 12:30?
I need $50, helmet, lunch, ¼ tank of gas, and extra air in my tires?
How important is the extra air and how much is suggested?

Yikes! How hard is it to follow the course? Do people get lost and miss turns?

If you want to be assured of time to walk the course, make it 7:30 and 11:30 to be there, although you can show up as late as 8:30 and probably still get registered.

Entry is $15 for a Weekend Membership plus $25 per day of racing, plus another $10 per day if you decide to run a second session in the afternoon.

Don't worry about how much gas you have. That's advanced course stuff. (Heck, I still show up with 1/2-3/4 tank fairly often.)

If you have at least 35 psi when you get there you'll be fine. You only need mroe air if you're rolling over the shoulders. If so, you'll have no trouble finding an air source to borrow when you need it.

when you get to reg let them know this is your 1st auto-x and see if they can get someone to take you for a walk on course......Now if you really want to learn the course be out there before 7am and help set-up....best way to learn the ropes....Pat

So how'd you like it Will? Being new myself I can share in what you're thinking about this sport now. I was doing the time slips in the afternoon, so I was able to watch your times, and how they kept improving. It looked like you were having fun :D

Yep! I was having a good time. I love a physical challenge, especially when it has to do with speed.
Cool I can push it as hard as I can and have no chance of get killed.
I had the slowest times of anyone one I saw, but also had the funkiest car that I saw. But no matter, power sliding through the s turns, and even wallowing through the slalom like a whale, made me feel like a true race car driver.

I'm wasted! My feet, neck, shoulders, stomach and groin muscles are screaming at the abuse they took. This is a much more physical sport that I had imagined. I am coming off a major illness though. 4 month ago I was so week I could not walk more than 30 ft. All the standing, working the cones, and walking the course about did me in. Of course I could have told some one and been relieved of some duty, but hey this is not my nature. My stubbornness is why I got so ill in the first place. I guess I'm a slow learner.

If I can get out of bed in the morning and past my concerned wife, I will back for more.
