I have never been to an event and I’m guessing on how the schedule works.

If you race one class, your event will either be in the morning or afternoon. If it is in the morning you are committed to race and work from 8 to noon and you get 6 runs. If your class runs in the afternoon you are committed from 11:30 to 4 to race and work with 6 runs.
If you are a novice you get your class event of 6 runs and your novice event of another 6 runs, but one will be in the morning and the other in the afternoon so you will be committed from 8 to 4.

Is this close to what happens?

Thanks Confused Novice.

Your close. The day is divided into two sessions - morning and afternoon. There are two run groups for each session. If you are a novice and you show up in the morning, then you will work one of the run groups and run in the other. If you are a novice and you show up in the afternoon, you will work one of the run groups and run in the other. If you are a novice and show up in the morning and WANT to run both the morning session and afternoon session, and pay the extra $10, then you work and run in the morning, and work and run in the afternoon.

Also, 6 runs are not guaranteed. Its all dependent on how long the course is, how many people come out and how much time we have.

We usually get 4-6 runs though.

Cost is $25 per day for SCCA Members. If you are not a member, you can get a weekend membership $15, which will be good for both days.

If you think you are going to participate more than 3 or so events, look into the "family" membership.
