I know everyone's mind is on Hawthorne, but is there any plans yet for the tentative May 31st Track Tour? I know it was said that it will probably be a drive, rather than a track tour, but I'm trying to make a schedule for that weekend, and would like to know if I can include some type of driving event for that day.

The Spring Tour will go on, weather permitting (rain or snow in the forecast will result in a cancellation). It'll be Saturday, May 31st, and we'll leave from the Bonanza Casino on North Virginia Street at 10 a.m.

This will NOT be a "track tour" -- we won't be going to Reno-Fernley Raceway. We only do that during the off-season, when we can get some free time on the track and open space in the paddock.

The Spring Tour will be a "drive in the country," heading generally north and west of Reno. There'll be a quick stop at Classic Car Storage of Reno out at Stead (that's where we keep our club's bus and trailer), and you'll get free coffee and donuts while you see some neat cars and find out what's available there to members of our club (some of which is free, too, and could come in very handy).

Then we'll head out of town. We'll go to some scenic places and drive some entertaining roads. There'll be a lunch stop. Expect to be back in Reno by 4:30 or 5. Yes, it'll cost you a tank of gas and your tab for lunch, but otherwise it's free!

Any questions, contact me directly at (775) 267-1183 or jrgandy@peoplepc.com.

Jim, Thanks for putting this together. Was alot of fun. Gina it was nice to finally meet you in person! I am looking forward to possibly being a future mastiff owner :D. To the man that gave me a ride to the hardware store, I didnt catch your name, but thank you for your help. I owe ya a beer or two next time you're down in Reno.

Overall it was nice to hang out and relax with a few of you. Even with my car breaking hehe. Thanks again!

Yes, it was fun. Thanks Jim, great day all around, nice group, and the restaurant in Sierra City was very cool (and since I wasn't driving I got to try Double-Barrel beer!). Good luck w/ the dog Kris (and better luck with your car too); we like "going big" when it comes to dogs but have never gone "Mastiff-big." Hope to see y'all next weekend :)
