Has anyone ever had a spring collapse on them?

I recently changed springs on the front of my rally car, and my front driver side seems to be getting lower and lower. when i put the car on jack stands everything measures out to be correct. then i lower the car and the front left seems to sag down more than it should.

and it seems to be getting worse.. actual dampening on that corner seems perfectly fine. (driving or jumping off the hood)

I have an extra spring of the same legnth and # i'm going to swap in to see if it changes anything.

I went from a #275 , 12" spring to a "long travel" #275 12" spring , and the long travel seems to be getting shorter and shorter on the driver side.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of that happening?

I had the opposite happen when I changed springs on the Pulsar after a few days the ride height increased by ¾” I didn’t take them back off and check the free length and just wrote it up to the mysteries of metallurgy. Maybe yours where from two different production runs using material from different suppliers

Ya i don't get it. i took out the "long travel" #275 spring 2.5 X 12 and replaced it with a "normal" #275 spring still 2.5 X 12 and that corner got about 1.75 inches higher :O

I ran out to summit , bought some #275 measuring 2.5 X 14 set my front spring perches 2 inches lower, leveled them out, installed the springs, and now my car is level.

so using everything But the "long travel" spring gave me the correct ride height ...

guess this is Mystery of Metallurgy #2

anyways my car is now happy and level! Hooray!
