I am thinking about going to T-hill on 7/9 with NCRC for a track day. You get 2 hours of track time with open passing for $125.00. I am changing the FD ratio in my car right now, ounce that is done I am good to go. Any one interested in going?

Hey that sounds pretty sweet. I will talk to my Dad and see what he thinks because i know that he really wants to get out to thunderhill. We both really want to get onto a different track other than fernley and expand our horizons.

That sounds pretty awesome, any other requirements for the open passing like previous experience or licensing?

I would hope they require significant experience before putting you in an OP group. Even if you can do it without crashing, do you trust someone who's only been to a couple PDXs not to punt you in a turn because he thinks he has a faster/better car?

and thats exactly why I asked, because I knew it wasn't the event for me, or people of my skill level, but the way it sounded so open had me curious if the event organizers were foolish or brave, haha.

they have different run groups at this event, not just OP groups. last i looked they had four different run groups with all being a different experience level.

They have 4 levels of HPDE with the highest being open passing and are very strict that it is not racing. If you make a move that is considered unsafe you are out. They also have TT and Race classes. I have never been to one of their events but my race friends that have say they are a good organization with great safety record. They must be doing something right or they would not still be around.

More than likely. Give them a call and they will tell if you can. If i can make it I may do the race. although I am going mainly to get some seat time and tune the car if it needs it.

Is there a DB limit out at Thunderhill, and we were to late on registration to go on july 9th/10th. But we are thinkning of going on august 8th instead.

Wow... why bother? I sure wouldn't want to be in the car that won't meet that standard.
