Everything worked fine except we couldn't get the timing displays to show anything. They were plugged, but it seemed like they just weren't getting signal, much like a COM Port issue. Tried switching ports with the lights, and the displays would roll the numbers over, but then the timing lights didn't work. Any ideas? There was a long list of displays available in the Options: Display settings, which one should it be?

Sounds like a USB/serial port configuration issue. Does USB com port configured in AXWare match the one in device manager?

Brand of displays is on them or the boxes. Don't remember off the top of my head.

You can make sure displays are working using hyperterm and talking directly to the com port. 1200 8-N-1 or 7-N-1 as I recall. Maybe 2400???

Type a couple numbers and hit enter.

Actually, they started working this morning when I tried to close the last open window a little more and one of the cables got a better connection.

I have it, currently talking to tech support trying to sort out a couple of issues w/ the new software. Sorry

Oh don't be sorry, I was just going to ask about the monitor output plug, there is only one correct? I may have stumbled into a second monitor and wonder if I also need to stunble into a "y"... I wonder if it will support another monitor?

Something like this might work: http://www.amazon.com/Video-Splitter-HD15-Monitors-High/dp/B001HZ5DF4/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

If not, we'd need to consider a USB video adapter for the laptop. The announcer could really stand to have his own monitor as I understand it.

We own the network edition of the software, so the second PC can be setup and controlled separately by the announcer if we want.

It allows them to look back at earlier info and such without effecting the timing folks.

All PCs have standard VGA ports. The problem with plugging in a second/third to the main timing laptop is they are typically lower resolution and thus the PC person has less screen to work with. USB attached displays are not a real option for XP and a mono threaded app like AXWare. We want that application/PC as stable as possible.

Be happy to discuss options with whomever...

Van, can you bring the laptop to the meeting Wednesday? I might be able to drop it off? There's also a chance I'll be using tomorrow:(

Oops, using it tomorrow....and I think the term is relapse.;)

The display issue was actually in the software. It was set up by default for the wrong type/brand of display. Once that was corrected it worked when the first car came in.
