Have we given any thought to increasing participation and membership by offering more social-type events? I have noticed that a sizable part of our club doesn't race -- I only see some of us once a year at the awards thingie; others only come for the tours, there is a core group that attends meetings, and others we hardly see (not to mention those who disappear when their cars break). I'm thinking that perhaps a mid-season meeting or extra social event could be dedicated to reconnecting and marketing -- having members bring guests, maybe giving a video or presentation to promote the solo and especially the race and PDX programs, door prizes and more unstructured BS-ing time than we normally get. We could call it membership appreciation or something. Just my $.02.
