Minutes of the Meeting

of the Board of Directors of the

Reno Region of the SCCA

May 3, 2006

Attendees: Patty Evans, Lucas Kunze, Matt Roy, Don Smith, Scott Perry, Doug Driver

The meeting was convened at about 6:00 PM at Austin’s Restaurant immediately preceding the general membership meeting. Patty and John missed out on cooking dinner.

First on the agenda was a discussion of the inclusion of Las Vegas Region’s results in our results for PAX calculation. Anybody from another region who participates in one of our events gets included, so there is no good reason why we should exclude the Las Vegas results from Hawthorne. It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to include all results.

The directors then discussed the need for online registration. We have used MyAutoEvents.com; but it has been cumbersome to use, and the payment mechanism is expensive. Don volunteered to take a look at some new available software; and Matt volunteered to see what Salt Lake City is using.

Doug Driver distributed financial statements and recommended that we combine the two CDs with some cash to make a $10,000 CD. All directors agreed.

Matt discussed the need for some new Reno SCCA stickers. It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to authorize Matt to order the stickers. These will be resold to members at a price which will recover our cost.

The board members again discussed the need to find a qualified volunteer who could replace or supplement Dean as the webmaster. More user-friendly software would probably be a requirement. Scott volunteered to investigate some web-posting software when he comes across some free time.

Jim Gandy has tentatively volunteered to organize a Spring tour. The weekend of June17th-18th seems to be the most conflict-free time frame.

The newsletter is getting larger thanks to the great work by Jim Gandy. It’s also getting more expensive to distribute by mail. The directors discussed other options for distribution, but no brilliant conclusions were drawn.

Sports Cars and All That Jazz approached our club about participation in their August 18th-19th event in Reno. It was decided to refer it to the general membership as an FYI it they would like to attend. The club will have no active involvement..

With hungry stomachs, the directors voted to close the meeting and proceed with the general membership meeting.

Respectfully submitted by Doug Driver, Secretary.
