Nominations for 2006 Board positions
Dave reviewed the open positions for the Reno region board positions which will be voted on at the December meeting. The members aren’t exactly knocking the doors down to fill the empty positions; career opportunities are available in the Solo2, Regional Executive, Secretary and Assistant RE positions.
Awards Banquet
31 people are signed up for the awards banquet on for November 19th at the Tamarack. Approximately 70 attendees are expected. Prizes are needed.
Fall Tour
Dave spent a few moments reviewing the fall tour. The weather was fabulous and the scenery was great – as was the fellowship. Jim Gandy is to be congratulated and thanked for a wonderful event.
October 15th-16th Club Trials
The last Lovelock club trials event was sparsely attended, but it still went off without a hitch. With the light crowd the track time was great and the schedule was leisurely.
Reno-Fernley Raceway Club Trials
41 participants are signed up for the November 12th club trials event at Reno-Fernley. Dave plans on four 20 minute sessions for the participants. Instructors will be available for all novices, and there is room for more participants.
Tow Fund
Dave discussed Russ Carpenter’s proposal for a fund which would accrue a portion of every entry fee towards a tow fund for participants to attend the runoffs. Several members discussed equitable methods for awarding the funds and the difficulties in developing the funding formula. All agreed that no immediate action was necessary.
2006 Schedule
Dave suggested that the Time Trials and Solo2 chairs (whoever they may be) assemble ad hoc committees sooner rather than later to discuss possible dates and the optimal number of events for next year’s programs. John Evans and Matt Roy volunteered to participate in Solo2 and Dave DeBorde, Doug Driver and Chuck Johnson volunteered to participate in TT planning
Walk-On Items
Dave reviewed Chrysler’s SRT program that includes free SCCA membership with the purchase of an SRT automobile – similar to what Subaru did with the WRX program.
Everyone congratulated Lee Mitchell on winning his NORPAC vintage class title and Dave on receiving his competition license. Following that the dogs were howling as the members sang “Happy Birthday” to Scott Perry.
Adjourn
The next general membership meeting is scheduled for December 7th at 6:30 PM at Austin’s Restaurant in Reno.
With no further business before the members, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted by Doug Driver, Secretary.
