Minutes of the Meeting

of the Board of Directors of the

Reno Region of the SCCA

October 26, 2005

Attendees:       Dave DeBorde            Doug Driver                 Lucas Kunze

Greg Benson               Matt Benson

The meeting convened promptly at 6:30 PM;  all participants attended via phone.

The directors reviewed the process for bestowing the discretionary year end awards and discussed the contributions of time and enthusiasm made by the various members.  The directors also discussed the possibility of renaming the Roger Hettrick award the “Distinguished Service Award” because nobody seems to know the origin of the Roger Hettrick award.

The board members turned their attention to the November 12th Club Trials event at Reno-Fernley Raceway.  There are currently 41 participants signed up with a few more in the wings.  We will follow the SCCA regulations and allow convertibles with factory roll hoops.  The directors discussed the option of restricting such cars to the first and second run groups.

The directors then turned their attention to the slate of officers/directors for the 2006 year.  Members have stepped up to volunteer for some of the positions, but Secretary, RE, and Assistant RE remain open.

Dave reviewed Russ Carpenter’s proposal for a “tow fund” to encourage more Reno members to attend the National Runoffs.  The directors agreed that it should be discussed with the general membership.

The following agenda items were tentatively set for the November 2nd general membership meeting.

·         Review of last month’s minutes

·         Treasurer’s report

·         Nominating committee’s need for candidates for 2006 offices

·         Review of October 8th Touring Rally and October 15th-16th Club Trials at Lovelock

·         Discussion of November 12th Club Trials at Reno-Fernley

·         2006 Solo2 schedule discussion

It was difficult to enjoy Carol’s brownies via teleconference.  The meeting adjourned at about 8:20 PM.

Respectfully submitted by Doug Driver, Secretary.
