of the Board of Directors of the
Reno Region of the SCCA
August 1, 2005

No beer, no Sloppy Joes, and no pie a la mode this time – just the board members on a teleconference at 6:30 PM
The directors reviewed the Reno-Fernley event. The event went well but lost about $1,600. The numbers are not yet final, but the balance in the road race account will probably be 0 after all of the receipts and expenses have cleared.
Next on the agenda was a review of the remaining schedule of events. Last year’s Solo 2 event over Labor Day weekend at Lovelock was sparsely attended, and the same thing could happen at the September 3rd event. One of the options is to run two run groups to cover the work assignments. The same could hold true for the September 4th Club Trials event. Doug will send an e-mail out to the membership asking for an indication of attendance from the members. It might make sense to try and reschedule the Solo 2 and move the Club Trials event to the same weekend as the October 15th Club Trials… which was moved from October 8th. Final resolution on the Labor Day events needs to be reached at the August 10th general membership meeting, so the newsletter should go out after that meeting to reflect any schedule changes.
Other items of discussion included the following:
· Lonny will no longer manage the airport at the end of September, so we’ll have to find an alternative way to watch the aircraft traffic at Lovelock.
· Greg will be the keeper of the points for the Time Trials series.
· The NORPAC convention is January 6th-8th.
· We need a volunteer to begin working on year-end trophies.
· We need an event chair for the year-end banquet.
· We still need to purchase additional radios; Dean has acquired an FM transmitter for broadcasting of results and announcement.
The following agenda items were tentatively set for the August 10th general membership meeting.
· Report on the Reno-Fernley Raceway event
· Report on the July 16th-17th Solo 2 at Stead
· Discussion of September 3rd-4th and October 15th-16th event scheduling
· Year-end trophies
· Year-end banquet
