Old Business
Minutes of prior meeting: Patty Evans moved to approve the minutes; Mike Mulhall 2nd:
Approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report : Report was delayed until Matt Benson arrived. Matt delivered the Treasurer’s report and distributed copies of June Cash Transactions report. Patty Evans moved to accept report; Lee Mitchell 2nd; carried unanimously.
Lovelock Club Trials Results: Dave Deborde reported that Dean Benz & Scott Perry have the results posted from our first event. Total of 29 members on Sat. but lost a few for Sun. A few excursions and some dusty cars, and a good time had by all participants. The new course worked out great. The entire Time Trials schedule is posted on the website: www.renoscca.com and in the Newsletter.
Solo 2 Divisional Results: Dave asked Carol D to give a brief report on the event. Dave than thanked all who helped, for their time and effort in making this another successful event. Kudos to Doug Driver for the unique personal Trophies. Didn’t get the entries had hoped for and had some discussion how to do better next year if plan to have event again. One thought was to do more advertising for the NPDiv Program & have some significant NPDiv year end awards/prizes. Mike Mulhall asked how we could become one of the stops on the National Tour.
NEW BUSINESS
Solo 2 Events #9 & #10 at Stead Airport: Mike Mulhall and Jim Uchytil are the event chairs. Mike indicated the course design is ready and that Jim had maps drawn up on a CAD Program. Jim will make a CAD site plan available for anyone needing it for future events. Mike will get ice, water and they plan to start set up around 10:00 am Friday – could use help.
Reno-Fernley Performance Driving Experience/Track Trials July 23-24: Dave D reported the schedule is firm, the sanction numbers are received and the event is available for Registration on myautoevents.com with paypal open for payments. Still need to organize the social for Sat. evening: order lunches for workers & drivers; recruit instructors and volunteers for corner workers, grid, etc.. Would like to get T’s but not sure have enough time. Doug D. has sent out info to other Regions to have put on their web. Dave D. & Greg Benson have been receiving & answering calls/questions regarding event. John Evens will hand out flyers to various businesses and Russ Carpenter will work on outside advertising.
Promotional Chair position: Dave D. wanted to remind the membership at large that there is a place for them to help as a volunteer Example: making posters, planning different format for some meetings (guest speakers, etc), help at Registration – just come out to see what is available. We would like more participation from non-active members – so they can feel part of the Club and get their input.
Equipment Evaluations: Consensus of the Board was that before purchasing more radios that we look into our needs. It would be convenient to have an FM transmitter to broadcast our events into the paddock areas. There are a few members looking into pricing for a system. We are also looking for an equipment trailer to haul the cones & scales and possibly carry the new FX45 to events. As it stands we need a driver for the bus and another one to haul the FX45.
Walk on Items: Debbie K wanted to thank Lee on behalf of the Region for getting us set up to purchase the FX 45. It has helped so much at both the Lovelock TT as a transport vehicle and at the Solo 2 Divisional.
Mike Mulhall asked about the Reno Champ Points – why haven’t they been updated and why do we include everyone in the Pax & year to date totals. There was discussion on omitting non-Reno competitors from Class & Pax Championship points listings. We can not change our supplementary regulations this late in the 2005 season but it was suggested that rules for the Region Solo 2 Championship be reviewed and revised prior to the 2006 season.
Jim Gandy got our July Road &Tach out today since there was a lot of pertinent information about up coming events. Thanks for the hustle Jim and all who got their articles to him.
Matt Benson moved to adjourn; Lee Mitchell 2nd. Adjourned at 8:00pm
Respectfully submitted by Carol Deborde, acting Secretary for Doug Driver
