Old Business:

Regional Championship Solo 2 Events #12 & #13 – Stead:  Dave thanked Lucas Kunze, Jim Kunze & Ray Walker for the short, interesting & fun course.  Lucas carried out his duties as the Event Chair efficiently & followed up with the smallest detail.  Great Job!  Many chimed in with the same comments.

Solo Trial Results Event #2 & #3 – Lovelock:  The attendance was similar as the inaugural event

22 participants on Sat. & 19 on Sun.  Greg Benson reported that it was a fun weekend & hopes to get more at the next event.

Dean Benz has been requested to find out if our timing software can be programmed to ignore the first trip of the finish timer but shut off on the second.  He will look into it.

New Business

Solo 2 Events #14 & #15 on Sept 4 & 5 – Lovelock:  Matt Benson & Jimmy Geck are the event chiefs.  There will be a banquet at the Ramada Inn Sturgeon’s Casino & also Matt has reserved 40 rooms for the event.  All is ready & to date there are 42 signed up.  Registration & Tech will be at the Airport.  Carol will contact Loney & Georgiana to see if they would like to be our guests.  Loney spends all day Sat & Sun at event listening for planes for us – there is no tower.  Matt reported that usually a number of people will just come & not register – we really needed people to register so that we could have a count for the banquet.

Reminder: to qualify for a yearend championship award you must have participated in Class in at least 51% of our 17 points events.

Solo Trials Event # 4 & #5  on October 2 & 3 – Lovelock:  Greg would like to get more people to sign up in advance.  It helps to have an idea for worker/run orders.

Dave said Loney informed him that this was the start of Deer Season & he may not be available to help, but will be sure to have someone to man the radio for planes.

There were many questions and discussion on the difference between Solo I Trials, Solo I Time Trials.  and Solo II.

An article will be in this months Road & Tach.

Road & Tach Newsletter Editor:  Christine Capon has published her first newsletter for us and Dave commended her on a great publication.  Christine has asked for all articles to be given to here by 2nd Thurs of month & she plans to have it out by the next week.  She says that she would really appreciate articles of interest – otherwise she will print anything she has available.  Please help her.

Dean & Debbie will bring back an article from Solo 2 Nationals and Loren Enstad will write an article about the Run offs in Ohio.  Everyone concurred – awesome job Christine and Thank you.

Awards Banquet:  Dick & Annie Lewis have booked Amelia’s for the Awards Banquet, Nov. 13.  Dave asked for help with the awards.  Mike Mulhall offered his service and John Evans volunteered to do the Perfect Attendance Award.

Debbie K. asked if would be possible to have something for all who participated during the year.  We will look into it.

NOTE:  At this point the waiter came in to take our dessert orders - & a 5 min. interruption ensued.

Election of Officers/Nominating Committee/By-Laws Revision:  Dave said he would like to see some new people on the board.  Dave read an article that was in the August Newsletter that told about the positions that were available and the requirements. Dave gave a brief idea of what is expected of the Board Members.   Dave will be appointing a nominating committee and if anyone is interested in assisting on the board, please contact Carol, Secretary.

By-Laws Revisions – Everyone, please take a look & see if there is anything need to be changed for the good of the clubs overall operation.

Dave has one thought about what is written in the By Laws regarding the Editor having a Directors position but the Editor is an appointed position.  After much discussion it was tabled until next meeting.

Road Race Possibilities, 2005 – Double Nationals at Thunderhill 3/18-20 – Regional/Solo1 – Vintage at Fernley:  The Double National with San Francisco is tentatively scheduled for March 18-20, 2005.  Mike Mulhall asked “how does this benefit our club”?  Dave explained if we want growth we need to do these events & get exposure to help expand our horizon.  Much discussion ensued.

Dean wanted to know how we’ve progressed for an HPCC for next year & how are our chances for SCCA to approve an event such as this.  A committee is still looking into it.

Walk on Items:  John Riggs requested a budget of $300.00 for his event in Oct. ‘The October Fast’ .  His request is granted.

Lee Mitchell - Our ‘Traveling Vintage Director’ went to a Vintage event in Northern Pacific Region.  He reported there were 25 Vintage cars and some of the drivers approached him wanting to come to Reno for an event.  We will look into it for 2005.

Carol moved to adjourn and John Riggs 2nd.  Meeting adjourned at 8:25pm

Respectfully submitted by:  Carol Deborde, Secretary
